How we work The First Step Drop-in Centre is a charity whose aim is to simbly be of benefit to the people of the local community. We are currently doing this by providing a youth drop in centre for all young people of the area, running a carer and toddler group, providing subsidised dinners for our pensioners club and strenghtening community spirit by providing a ocmmunity cafe offering reasonably priced good quality food. All our physical running costs are covered by proceeds generated through our community cafe. Every item purchased in our cafe is helping support all our good work and without customers using our service, none of our work would be possible. We also recieve assitance from outside funders who employ our full time and part time youth workers and are ever greatful to those funders who contribute to programme costs for our youth activities. We welcome any donations that people wish to make and gurantee that it will be used to help further our charity work. Our work is carried out by a small number of profesionals and volunteers who work hard to further our work. If you would like to be involved in any way please get in touch and we will be more than glad to recieve any help.
